All employers have a common law duty of care to their employees to provide a safe place of work, safe systems of work, adequate training and supervision. IPB’s Employers Liability Insurance covers your organisation for the cost of compensation and associated legal costs for which you are legally liable, for injuries sustained by your employees in the course of their employment in connection with your business activities.
Summary of Cover
- Our standard policy provides indemnity in the amount of €13 million with higher limits available on request.
- Indemnity is provided to any Director, Employee or senior official of the Insured in respect of any claim brought against them in a personal capacity and arising out of or in connection with the Insured’s business.
- Worldwide cover is provided for employees working temporarily overseas in a non manual capacity.
- Cover includes private work carried out by an Employee for the Insured or for any Director, Employee or senior official of the Insured.
- For the purposes of the policy cover, employees include full time, part time, temporary and seasonal employees including persons on work experience programs.
Additional Features
- Cover automatically includes the provision and management of the Insured’s canteen, social sports or welfare organisations including the provision of first-aid, fire or ambulance services for the benefit of Employees.
- The policy automatically extends to include cover for defence costs in respect of any criminal proceedings brought against the Insured for breach or alleged breach of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 or any amending legislation.
- The daily court attendance costs for any Director, Employee or Senior Official who are required as a witness in connection with any claim will be covered.
