The Road Traffic Act 1961 (as amended) imposed the statutory obligation on the users of mechanically propelled vehicles to insure or provide security against their legal liability for death or bodily injury to third parties, arising out of the use of such vehicles in a public place.

 

The purpose of the Motor Fleet Insurance cover is to protect all our clients who have Mechanically Propelled Vehicles from any claims that may arise due to their negligent use. 

The cover provided safeguards against Third Party Claimants who have suffered a loss due to the use of an Insured Vehicle. 


Summary of Cover

• The IPB Motor Fleet Insurance policy provides protection to the Employer (Insured Organisation) for any claims that may arise due to the use of an insured vehicle.
• The policy provides cover for any employee, who has a valid licence, to drive the Employers vehicles on work related activities.
• Employees include fulltime, parttime, temporary and seasonal employees including contracted and seconded individuals.  
• The policy is written on a specified or blanket basis. If cover is on a specified basis then all vehicles declared to IPB is covered.
• The Third Party Property Damage Limits of indemnity provided up to €6.4 million.
